My choice for the video was Anytime, Anywhere, Online learning. I choose this specific video because I personally believe that we are moving into an age where it will be more and more accepted to take online courses instead of going into a traditional classroom. A lot of children can benefit from this way of learning for these top reasons, one they can move at their own pace, no one is slowing them down, or they are not feeling like they have to catch up to everyone else in the classroom. Another top reason is the cost. It is cheaper for the children to have their text books online, turn in assignments online, and meet in a “classroom setting” online. All that is required is a computer, headphones, microphone and some time. It is also more environmentally friendly as well.
I think the best way for me to integrate technology in my classroom as a new teacher is by using all the available resources to me. It is also very important for me to know exactly how to use the technology, how to bring it to life in the best possible way for my students, but also not lose the importance of going to the library to know how to look up things, and use books as resources. It might be old fashioned thinking, but I still believe that piece is just as important to the children and their learning as it is to stay on top of the technology trend and bring the classrooms into the future.
